PHASE 1-OCTOBER TO DECEMBER
- In small groups, students research and choose English speaking cities,
bearing in mind the objective of the global project "TO BUILD
THE PERFECT CITY";
- Each group chooses 3 landmarks from the elected cities and keeps
it secret from the other groups;
- The groups research information about those landmarks in libraries,
encyclopaedias and internet;
- Each group organises and studies the selected information and creates
no more than 10 clues for each mystery landmark .
PHASE 2-JANUARY TO JUNE

Weekly a group from the 8th grade posts the clues
to boards in the students area (7th, 8th and 9th grades) and teacher's
lounge;
-
Each class will have a moderator with the exception
of the 8th grade that will have more than one as they are divided
into groups;
-
Teachers will have a moderator too;
-
Each group will have a week to try to solve the clues
and to e-mail an answer to the organiser of the game ( the group's
moderator will e-mail it );---only one guess is allowed;

The following week the results are shown in a general
board ( if participants draw the selection criteria will be the e-mail
date );

At the same time, the organiser of the game will send
the clues to participating schools in other countries;
-
These schools will have a week to give the answers
to the organiser of the game

Every week the winners will be announced
PHASE 3-THE TWO LAST WEEKS OF JUNE
-
The game is officially over midnight June 13 and the
international or national winner will be announced by 20th June;
-
A list of clues and respective landmarks will be made
by the 8th grade and will be post on line in the internet.

Comments |
This project crosses the curriculum areas allowing students
to call on their writing, problem solving, critical thinking, map reading
and organisational skills. It also crosses grade levels different cultures
and develops students` creativity.
