Time planning
November 2003 – June 2004

Phase 1 – telling short stories, rotine situations and drawing (November to December)

Phase 2 – visiting Centro Lúdico de Animação no Coliseu. Trying different animation techniques (January to February)

Phase 3 – collecting works and using ICT to post them. Creating a new sequence of images with a story (March to June)

Activity development

Phase 1

  • teacher explains the project o the students by showing them, in Powerpoint, some examples of animation techniques (from Keith Haring)
  • students make simple drawings

Phase 2

  • students will visit Centro Lúdico de Animação no Coliseu
  • students make simple sequences (example: a plane flying, a man walking…)
  • students create some useful instruments to animate the sequences: flip book, thaumatropes, zoetropes and phenakistascopes

Phase 3

  • works will be digitalized in computer and compiled
  • the work will be post on-line www. colegioescravas.org
  • students create new sequences, this time with a story

This project was born in order to motivate students to Technology subject, and to all the Arts in general, by posting their works on the net (on-line motivation).
